To investigate the impacts of climate-driven changes, the laboratory established an Ocean Acidification (OA) Facility at the Bolinao Marine Laboratory, Marine Science Institute, Bolinao, Pangasinan. The facility is equipped with a mass flow controller air-CO2 bubbling aeration system to mimic the present day and IPCC-projected near future scenarios of decreased seawater pH. Currently, the lab’s OA Facility has outdoor and indoor open flow experimental set-ups. The indoor set-up is equipped with temperature controlled system that enables ocean acidification-warming experiments, while the outdoor set-up is utilized for individual effects of ocean acidification.
